Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Project Controls Engineer to join our team! In this role you'll get to develop, establish, and maintain all aspects of the cost control effort and/or the planning/scheduling effort on one or more of the larger, complex and demanding projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
2. Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides statistical reports.
3. Provides project and company management with the necessary tools for project cost control.
4. May lead in the development of the work breakdown structure, interfacing with all affected departments.
5. Analysis, evaluation, forecast, and reporting of schedule status against an established baseline.
6. Analysis, evaluation, and forecast project costs and performance.
7. Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel.
8. Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.
9. Accumulates and accesses historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
10. May lead a staff qualified to assess the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages.
11. Develops or maintains an established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keeps project and company management fully informed.
12. Customizes project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
13. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. A bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
2. Proficiency in P6, MS Project, Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
3. Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems, specifically with CPI, SPI, and S-Curves metrics.
4. Knowledge of Cost and Schedule Management principles.
5. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
6. Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
7. Familiarity with Power BI reporting an asset.
