Job description

Principal Product Marketing Manager - Builder Experience

Join the team as Twilio’s next Principal Product Marketing Manager, Builder Experience.

About the job

This position is needed to support Twilio’s next chapter, driving awareness and adoption of our Platform and new builder experiences as we work backwards from our customers' needs.

Behind great customer engagement are the builders who turn ideas into differentiation. We are developing new Console and API tools and experiences to empower those builders, enabling both self-service and enterprise customers to build, deploy, and scale their applications. In this role, you will blend your understanding of developer needs with a passion for crafting compelling stories that drive adoption of Twilio’s Platform. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape product roadmaps, lead strategic launches, and develop impactful messaging to build awareness and increase adoption of critical experiences across Twilio’s Console and APIs.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

Build a deep understanding of our customers (including technical and non-technical builders) and user personas through research and direct engagement, and use that insight to shape our go-to-market strategy and product roadmap.

Develop compelling, audience-specific messaging, positioning, and content that differentiates Twilio’s Platform in the market.

Lead cross-functional product launches, working across marketing, Product, Sales Enablement, GTM, and Support teams to drive awareness, demand, and usage of new products and experiences.

Champion our customers while influencing product development and ensuring alignment with customer needs through the Twilio Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC).

Test and refine new marketing approaches and channels to reach and engage key audiences to help them maximize usage of the Twilio Platform.

Qualifications

Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

*Required:

You have 5+ years experience in product marketing or technical marketing.

You are a strategic thinker--you like to build a deep domain expertise through primary and secondary research and can apply that research to develop positioning, thought leadership, and marketing campaigns.

You know how to turn data into a story. You know how to turn a story into a presentation. You are able to clearly articulate complex concepts to leave a lasting impression.

You know how to enable and educate internal audiences to drive meaningful and actionable content.

You can get things done. We want to talk about how you manage projects.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

You've worked with technology products that target developers with cloud-based services, or API solutions.

You understand the needs of technical builders and have worked with developer communities or developer tooling.

You understand and have experience in the global market around programmable communications or related technologies.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You’ve demonstrated an ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.

You have a good understanding of Twilio's value prop and the apps that have already been built. You can build a Twilio app yourself.

Location

This role will be remotebased in Ontario, Canada.

Travel

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 5% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.
