Job summary

Lightspeed Commerce is seeking a Principal Product Designer in Toronto (preferably) to shape the AI-powered agentic experience and elevate design across the Retail portfolio. This is a hands-on IC role reporting to the Head of Design for Retail, with an emphasis on defining interaction patterns and delivering shipped product in close collaboration with AI engineering and product leadership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of product design experience with a maker's mindset.
• Portfolio demonstrating hands-on craft across UX, interaction, and visual design.

Responsibilities

• Define new interaction patterns for agentic AI and designer–engineer collaboration.
• Lead end-to-end AI experience design as a hands-on IC in partnership with AI engineering and product leadership.
• Raise the craft bar across the organization by contributing across product areas and mentoring teams.
• Lead vision work to rethink core merchant experiences through exploration and prototyping.
• Prototype with AI daily to move from concept to working prototype quickly.
