Job Description:

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver mechanical assemblies, including full chassis design for ultra-high-performance and power electronic products. You may also provide technical leadership to a small design team. We seek candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment and are committed to delivering high-quality products.

This role involves ownership of all aspects of mechanical design, including BOM creation, vendor negotiations, product aesthetics, design, development, and validation, with a focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Our product development lifecycle is cradle-to-grave, meaning ownership extends beyond product shipment to customer trials, field issues, and product sustaining.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of Hardware, ASIC, Signal, Mechanical, Thermal, Diagnostic, Packaging, and Manufacturing engineers. Joint development programs may require extensive interaction with partner engineering teams.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Designing high-powered production enclosures capable of cooling 2kW/RU+
• Addressing power and thermal issues related to PCBs with 1kW+ footprints
• Proven collaboration with production and manufacturing teams to streamline processes, improve quality, and ensure smooth transitions from design to production
• Understanding of US, European, and Asian regulations and standards to ensure safety and environmental compliance
• Lifecycle product ownership of complex products, from inception to volume production
• Working with support groups such as Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12+ years of experience

Beneficial Experience:

• Experience as a small team lead or proven technical mentor
