Job summary

Black Duck Software, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead identity, authentication, authorization, and access management platforms for our SaaS offerings.

You will drive architecture, design, and the implementation of secure, scalable services; mentor engineers; and influence security and engineering standards across multiple teams.

This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership in a fast-paced DevSecOps environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering with architecture/leadership.
• Extensive IAM/CIAM design and operations experience.
• Hands-on with identity platforms like Auth0, Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity.
• Knowledge of OAuth2.0, OIDC, SAML, MFA, federation, tokens.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of enterprise-scale identity and access management solutions.
• Serve as the technical authority for authentication, authorization, federation, and identity lifecycle management.
• Design secure, scalable systems supporting multiple products and teams.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards across teams.
• Promote AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
