The Division is seeking an innovative and visionary leader with an excellent background as a classroom teacher and school-based administrator. The ideal candidate possesses exemplary interpersonal skills and a commitment to building and promoting a collaborative learning environment.

The principal will continue to build on our RDPSD tradition of developing the best educational experience for students.

The successful applicant will have an initial placement at Fairview Elementary School.

Desirable qualifications:

• Evidence of exemplary interpersonal skills
• Evidence of a commitment towards building and promoting collaborative learning environments
• Evidence of establishing structures and supports focused on concurrent academic and social / emotional interventions
• Evidence of leadership experience with diverse students
• Evidence of a graduate degree in education, leadership, or a related field;
• Evidence of high expectations for student achievement, literacy assessment, and effective literacy programming and interventions;
• Evidence of a commitment to leading and supporting professional development and school improvement initiatives aligned with division and provincial directions
• Evidence of a thorough understanding of how technology can be used to facilitate learning
• Evidence of LQS Certification (Completion of Pathways to Certification Workshop or Post-Secondary Credential) or firm completion timeline
• Evidence of successful experience as a Vice Principal, Principal or Systems Leader
