Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead the development of our Data and AI platforms. This role involves designing, building, and managing large-scale data and AI systems with a focus on automation, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

1. Define and promote a vision for a modern, scalable, and secure data platform using cloud-native technologies.
2. Ensure effective data platform practices, including automated pipelines, CI/CD, and monitoring.
3. Design scalable Data and ML/AI platforms to support the entire AI lifecycle.
4. Optimize data infrastructure with automation, IaC, and governance.
5. Collaborate across teams to align data delivery with organizational goals.
6. Stay updated on emerging data and AI technologies.

Development Lifecycle & Best Practices

1. Translate requirements into data and ML/AI workflows.
2. Lead the selection and integration of DevOps tools for data and AI.
3. Establish standards and promote automation and DataOps/MLOps practices.

Collaboration & Innovation

1. Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams.
2. Communicate complex concepts effectively.
3. Evaluate and implement new tools and methodologies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering, DataOps, MLOps, or related fields.
• 5+ years with CI/CD, IaC, containerization, and automation.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary ranges from $141,100 to $211,700 CAD, with additional benefits and flexible work options.
