BBA is a well-established private Canadian firm providing specialized engineering services in the natural resources industry, including iron ore processing. We are currently seeking a senior engineer with extensive expertise in iron ore processing. The specific sectors of expertise include magnetic processes (low and high intensity), gravity separation (hydroclassifiers and spirals), concentrate drying and dewatering, flotation for high purity concentrates, bulk concentrate management, pelletizing, direct reduction processes, and operational experience.   • Provide metallurgical expertise for all project aspects, including EPCM projects.
  • Serve as a discipline lead, supervise junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Lead metallurgical tests and guide clients in project development.
  • Perform due diligence audits and manage various feasibility studies within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Promote BBA's expertise in the iron ore processing industry.
  • Liaise with clients on technical matters and present reports and briefings professionally.
  • Design and simulate mineralogical processes.
  • Examine and approve mass balances, process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Lead and participate in market analyses for iron ore projects worldwide.
  • Prepare, review, and approve professional qualifications, proposals, and service offerings.
  • Address interdisciplinary technical challenges, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective factory acceptance tests and process optimizations.
  • Review and develop process design documents and evaluations, material and energy balances, and operational parameters.
  • Assess, select, and implement new technologies to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and profitability.

Overview of Certifications and Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in mineral processing, metallurgy, chemical engineering, or mining.
  • At least 15 years of experience in mineral processing operations.
  • Proven success in mining and metals industry projects.
  • Qualified person as per CIM standards.
  • Ability to travel frequently across Canada and internationally (> 25%).
  • Canadian Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
