Restaurant Brands International is seeking an on-site Full Stack Software Engineer for both backend and frontend development, supporting the research and development (R&D) group. As a Principal Engineer in the R&D group, you will drive technical innovation and strategy while providing high-level guidance to the team. This role requires a visionary approach to both feature development and architectural design, anticipating future needs while fostering collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

This role provides a unique chance to work on cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and AI-driven initiatives that will help shape the future of quick-service restaurants (QSR).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader and strategic advisor, meeting with R&D group product stakeholders to gather frontend and backend requirements.
• Translate high-level business needs into measurable and scalable technical deliverables.
• Architect and oversee the implementation of complex frontend and backend solutions.
• Collaborate with R&D peers on new product development and maintenance of existing systems.
• Draft and review detailed design documents for critical features.
• Contribute to companywide DevEx and improve collaboration among engineers.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience building and leading front-end development with React.
• 4+ years of experience building and architecting Node.js APIs.
• 2+ years of experience building AWS services, with an emphasis on deploying AI/ML models in AWS environments.
• Proven ability to independently deliver high-quality features and systems under strict deadlines.
• Deep experience designing system architectures that incorporate data pipelines, frontend frameworks, and backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI and classical machine learning techniques.
• Expertise in AI-enhanced data visualization tools, preferably in React.
