Job summary

Arcadia in Toronto is seeking a Principal Software Developer to lead hands-on backend work using C# and .NET, shaping scalable systems that serve millions of customers in Canada and the US. You will design architectures, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product, QA, and security teams while advancing CI/CD, cloud-native microservices, and data strategies in a hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of experience, deep system design skills, and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with C# and .NET backend development.
• Experience at Principal/Lead/Staff level with system design.
• Cloud experience across AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience building microservices and APIs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps.
• Strong secure coding and automated testing practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend apps using C# and .NET.
• Lead technical design and implementation of complex software systems.
• Contribute to architecture across AWS and Azure.
• Build and modernize microservices, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Develop secure systems protecting customer data.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for high-volume apps.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Support Docker and Kubernetes workloads; strengthen CI/CD.
• Write clean, testable production code and conduct code reviews.
• Mentor developers and set engineering standards.
