Job summary

Aequilibrium Software Inc is hiring a Principal .NET Engineer to architect and build distributed backend systems powering digital banking experiences used by hundreds of thousands of members. You will work on large-scale distributed services and collaborate with senior architects and engineering leaders.

This role focuses on designing scalable architectures, mentoring engineers, and modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native platforms. Fully remote within Canada with competitive rates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience building enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Designing scalable REST APIs and asynchronous messaging solutions.
• Experience with MassTransit and Azure.
• Strong SQL Server and data modeling knowledge.
• Agile engineering environment experience.
• Excellent communication with architects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable distributed backend services using modern .NET technologies.
• Architect integrations between digital banking platforms, payment systems, identity providers, and core banking applications.
• Lead technical design discussions and influence architecture decisions.
• Build resilient microservices capable of supporting high-volume financial transactions.
• Collaborate with solution architects, product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams.
• Review architecture and code to maintain high engineering standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Help modernize legacy systems into cloud-native distributed platforms.
