Are you experienced in developing and maintaining test automation frameworks for electronic inhalable products? Do you have a bachelor’s degree and over eight years of embedded systems testing and integration experience? If so, we want to speak with you!

We are seeking a Principal Automation Test Engineer to join our Product Science and Technology team in Richmond, VA. Your role will involve implementing new automated tests to ensure firmware coverage and reliability, reviewing technical documentation, and collaborating across teams to resolve firmware issues.

What you will be doing :

• Leading firmware testing for inhalable devices, including performance, stress, and regression testing, with detailed documentation and reporting.
• Developing software for test fixtures to support device scale-up and working with manufacturing teams to improve tools.
• Managing verification and validation procedures for software / firmware, maintaining documentation and codebases.
• Ensuring products meet industry standards and regulatory guidance through process development.
• Maintaining CI / CD automation to optimize development cycles.
• Participating in technical discussions, driving innovation, and improving testing strategies.
• Staying updated on firmware test automation trends and integrating new methodologies.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related; Master’s preferred.
• Over 8 years in embedded systems testing and integration, with a successful product delivery record.
• Experience with automation testing of embedded systems, IoT, real-time OS, and low-level C / Python programming.
• Experience with HIL testing, source control, CI / CD, and defect tracking tools.
• Familiarity with regulated environments and quality assurance processes.
• Strong communication skills, capable of presenting to senior management.

The starting salary depends on experience and qualifications, with a range of $116,200.00 - $168,400.00.
