Department Overview:

Global Enterprise Services (GES) is one of the foundational divisions of the TMX Group, that empowers internal TMX business lines for their technology needs, operations and digital innovation. GES as a client centric organization focuses on building technology capabilities, enabling our clients with the best technology solutions and providing effective technology financial and resource management processes. The cost effective operation is a key attribute of the GES execution. GES is responsible for delivery of all technology initiatives and services across TMX.

Role Summary:

As the Principal Automation Engineer, you will serve as the strategic lead for infrastructure automation across TMX Group, driving the transition toward a "Platform Engineering" model. You will define the enterprise roadmap for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), leveraging Ansible and Terraform to build standardized, self-service pipelines across hybrid-cloud environments (on-premise, AWS, and OpenShift). Beyond technical execution, you will provide architectural governance, establishing automated guardrails for security and compliance while eliminating manual bottlenecks in provisioning. In this evolution of the role, you will also spearhead the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the automation ecosystem. You will act as a high-level consultant to Global Technology Solutions (GTS), mentoring engineering teams and evangelizing a culture where AI-driven development enhances system reliability and autonomous operations. Your leadership will be pivotal in transforming fragmented infrastructure tasks into scalable, business-agnostic services, significantly improving organizational agility and reducing time‑to‑market for critical financial systems. This role reports to: Senior Technical Manager, Platform Engineering, Monitoring and Observability
