About the Team

We are looking for a dynamic leader passionate about helping Canadians succeed with credit. The Third-Party Management Team provides third-party services using strong governance practices to support Capital One’s strategic goals.

About the Role

As Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager, Third Party Management, you will be a first-line execution leader partnering with business stakeholders in third-party sourcing and management. Your role is to maximize value for Capital One in third-party engagements while mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with Capital One’s Third-Party Risk Management policies and relevant regulations.

You will leverage your market knowledge across categories to support our technology-focused business, ensuring third-party arrangements offer competitive advantages through optimal pricing, negotiation, and rationalization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary third-party manager for an assigned portfolio, supporting team members in relationship management, risk mitigation, contract negotiations, and process improvements.
  • Oversee all assigned third-party relationships, collaborating with cross-functional teams including legal, enterprise, and customer service to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with market trends and business goals, utilizing market data and insights for informed decision-making.
  • Manage third-party and business deliverables in accordance with policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in management forums and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure objectives are met.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and negotiation skills to support pricing and service level agreements.
  • Manage multiple priorities with various stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met for timely product and service delivery.
  • Act as a change agent, executing plans and supporting organizational initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to foster innovation and improve efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related certification in third-party management.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in third-party management within the financial sector, including risk and process management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working cross-functionally, managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Deep market knowledge in sourcing and supplier management relevant to credit card business, with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
