The Mission

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Architect to join our growing Cloud Architecture & Engineering team. The right candidate has deep expertise in cloud architecture and is passionate about working with customers, partners, and colleagues to drive innovation. Your mission will be to work alongside Caylent’s Engineers, Architects, Sales, and Project Managers to deliver AWS solutions to our diverse customer base, working with the latest technologies and supporting customers in bringing innovative ideas to market.

Your Assignments

• Serve as a technical advisor and thought leader across multiple workstreams and strategic customer engagements.
• Collaborate with clients to understand business goals and design high-impact, cloud solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions, create and present technical artifacts, and define long-term architectural strategies.
• Guide small teams or oversee larger teams through implementation and delivery.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and provide architectural direction across projects.
• Create and share public-facing content showcasing Caylent’s innovation and leadership.
• Support pre-sales activities through proposal development, scoping, and technical estimation.
• Mentor Architects and Engineers to elevate technical execution and growth.
• Represent Caylent with delivery excellence and deep technical leadership.

Your Qualifications

Core Consulting Qualifications

• Builds trust with senior stakeholders through transparency, strategic updates, and reliable delivery.
• Proactively identifies and mitigates risks impacting customer success or project alignment.

• Facilitates priority alignment and conflict resolution across multi-stakeholder environments.
• Guides cross-functional teams through challenging scenarios with calm, strategic leadership.

• Handles escalations and scope-related disagreements with professionalism and clarity.
• Remains composed in high-stakes situations, proposing actionable next steps.

Technical Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an Architect in enterprise environments, preferably in consulting.
• Ability to communicate technical objectives clearly and cultivate client relationships.
• Strategic thinking across business, product, and technical challenges.
• Expertise in serverless development with AWS services like API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudFront.
• Hands-on experience managing AWS environments and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Experience with DevOps automation, containerization, API management, and multi-cloud solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with migrations, CI/CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, scripting, containers (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Fargate), cloud security, networking, and project management.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

The salary range is $165,000 - $185,000/year, based on skills, experience, and location. The role may require up to 25% travel. Note: No visa sponsorship available now or in the future. Caylent is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
