  • Principal AI Research Scientist, the first hire for this role.
  • Onsite work in Toronto, Ontario
  • Exciting opportunity to work at the frontier of agentic AI - shaping how the world interacts with intelligent systems.
What & Why:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal AI Research Scientist to join our senior team. You will define and architect the foundations of this new frontier. You’ll lead cutting-edge research in LLMs, VLMs, RAG, and agent orchestration - designing and coordinating autonomous agents with memory, reasoning, and personality that respond to rich multimodal prompts, understand creative intent, and collaborate to generate high-quality, context-aware creative output. You will be building out rapid prototyping, running research execution and experimentation, owning the data strategy and leading a senior team.

Who:
An early-stage team is bringing on someone curious and sharp to help shape something ambitious at the intersection of creativity and AI technology. It's still flying a bit under the radar, but the direction is bold—and the impact could be significant. This role is located in Toronto, Ontario and is hybrid 3 days a week in office. They are still securing office space so will be remote to start.

You:
  • Extensive experience developing and training LLMs and MLLMs, including custom architecture and alignment.
  • Expertise in RAG pipelines and vector databases (e.g., LlamaIndex, LangChain, Weaviate, FAISS).
  • Deep understanding of agentic systems: A2A protocols, orchestration, contextual memory, autonomy.
  • Advanced Python and ML stack proficiency (e.g., PyTorch, JAX), with experience building scalable ML pipelines.
  • Experience shipping multimodal ML systems that interface with real users and services.
  • Strong publication record at top-tier ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ACL).
Compensation:
Up to $250,000 annual base salary + equity.
