What is the Opportunity?

The Pricing Analyst, RBC Global Asset Management (GAM), is responsible for the daily pricing and analysis of a wide range of financial instruments for RBC GAM. As Pricing Analyst, you will apply analytical tools to assess the accuracy of security valuations by researching, analyzing and resolving issues according to established policies and procedures.

What will you do?
  • Research, analyze and validate daily price discrepancies within valuation policy and monitor changes in the securities markets and investment regulations and their impact on daily pricing
  • Train staff on pricing process and methodologies across all financial instruments, while providing ongoing support to address daily price challenges
  • Approve user supplied price (USP) files along with SPOT pricing validations daily to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Engage in price/data/application discussions with external vendors
  • Analyze market value impact of corporate actions and trade discrepancies against market data
  • Review security setup attributes for accuracy
  • Assist in pricing initiatives and enhancements and maintain internal pricing procedures/policies
  • Monitor changes in the securities markets and investment regulations and their impact on daily pricing and resolve security price queries from internal/external audit
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field
  • Ability to work in a team environment, strong communication, time management, problem solving, attention to detail
  • At least 1-2 years experience with pricing/data applications such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv/Datascope, Thomson One Financial, Eagle, etc.
  • Experience with VBA/Macros, SQL, Tableau, Python
  • Security pricing experience: Equity – Domestic, international, fair value pricing; Fixed Income – Plain vanilla, Convertibles, MBS, Strips, Real Return bonds, etc.; Derivatives - Futures, Options, Forwards, Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, Structured Products, etc.; Others – private placements, warrants, rights, restricted securities, etc.

Nice to Have

  • Completion of I Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or CFA Level 1
