Job summary

Jobtailor in Milton, Ontario is seeking a seasoned Pricing Analyst to shape pricing strategy for DSV products and services. You will analyze profitability, set price points for air and sea transport, and collaborate across Sales, Clients, and Operations to answer pricing questions.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary studies in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of international transportation industry experience.
• CIFFA or APICS certifications are considered an asset.
• Good verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to collaborate and listen actively.
• Service-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills.

• Provide appropriate pricing for DSV products and services for spot requests, applying guidelines and profitability analysis.
• Determine price points for Air and Sea transport modes using data and customer needs.
• Serve as liaison between Sales, Clients, and Operations regarding pricing questions.
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing and profitability for existing accounts.
• Analyze shipment volume and revenue to assess pricing strategy effectiveness.
• Monitor industry developments and competitor pricing strategies and respond accordingly.
• Negotiate competitive pricing from transportation vendors for shipments or lanes.
• Create and maintain client rates in CargoWise One.
• Resolve autorating issues with Operations in CargoWise One.
• Provide guidance and training to less-experienced pricing team members when needed.
• Support DSV’s quality, health, safety, and environmental objectives and requirements.

Job description

• Provide appropriate pricing for DSV products and services for spot requests by applying departmental guidelines, performing profitability analysis, suggesting optimal pricing, and implementing tariffs when applicable
• Determine appropriate price points for Air and Sea transport modes using internal and external data and customer needs
• Serve as liaison between Sales, Clients, and Operations regarding pricing questions
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing and profitability of existing accounts
• Analyze shipment volume and revenue to assess pricing strategy effectiveness and profitability
• Monitor industry developments and competitor pricing strategies and provide tactical and strategic responses
• Negotiate competitive pricing from transportation vendors for individual shipments or lanes
• Create and maintain client rates in CargoWise One
• Resolve autorating issues with Operations in CargoWise One
• Provide functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less-experienced pricing team members when needed
• Support DSV’s quality, health, safety, and environmental objectives and requirements

Requirements

• Post-secondary studies in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of international transportation industry experience
• Relevant industry certifications such as CIFFA or APICS considered an asset
• Good verbal and written English skills
• Ability to create collaborative engagements and actively listen
• Service-oriented approach and ability to resolve customer grievances
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
• Ability to multitask, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
• CargoWise experience considered an asset
• Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment
• Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
