Pressure Relief Valve Technician

Job Description

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a PRV Repair Technician Level II (PRVRT-II) in Belle Chasse, LA for a full-time opportunity with a confidential client in the valve repair industry. This role is hands-on and physically demanding, ideal for a mechanically inclined professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure. The PRV Repair Technician Level II will report to the Level III Technician and be responsible for all aspects of pressure relief valve disassembly, inspection, repair, and testing.

Essential Duties:

1. Complete repair intake process, including SDS review, valve identification, and accurate electronic data entry.
2. Conduct visual inspections to determine non-repairable items.
3. Perform safe valve pretesting, disassembly, and cleaning according to QCP and OEM specs.
4. Identify and inspect parts using manufacturer literature and approved methods (e.g., PMI, alloy analyzers).
5. Evaluate, requisition, and track parts as needed for repair orders.
6. Safely assemble and test valves using air, water, steam, and nitrogen per applicable code requirements.
7. Prepare finished valves for shipment, including painting, tagging, sealing, and proper packaging.
8. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including test stands, pneumatic tools, and forklifts.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout all phases of the repair process.
10. Uphold customer commitment standards and support colleagues in daily operations.
11. Travel within the Gulf Coast region as needed.

Requirements/Skills:

1. High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical or Trade School preferred.
2. 5+ years of experience in valve repair industry strongly preferred.
3. Familiarity with QSM, QCP, and OEM manuals.
4. TWIC, OSHA Safety, and Security Passport credentials required.
5. Valid driver’s license.
6. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read, write, and communicate professionally.
7. Moderate computer literacy (data entry, ERP systems).
8. Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently.
9. Must be capable of working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with multiple interruptions.

Physical Requirements:

1. Frequent standing, walking, handling/fingering, and reaching.
2. Occasional climbing, crawling, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
3. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
4. Must be able to push/pull heavy loads and operate equipment as required.
