Qualifications

  • 3+ years previous oilfield experience, preferred experience on a Coil Tubing Unit, Pumping Unit experience or Service Rig.
  • Valid class 5 Driver's license.
  • Advanced knowledge of fluid systems and coil tubing operations.
  • Able to understand and interpret instructions both written and verbal.
  • Able to identify dangerous conditions and act accordingly.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety policies and emergency procedures.
  • Able to interact responsibly with crew members, company representatives at all times.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to solve and troubleshoot problems.
  • Able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Forklift certification or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Load up and secure chemistry totes for jobs and ensure correct chemicals are loaded for well parameters.
  • Perform rig-up and rig-out duties with equipment on location as per rig up layout.
  • Operate equipment and maintain and repair equipment, as required.
  • Regularly observe equipment-operating parameters.
  • Report potential problems to Senior Operator and Operations manager.
  • Monitor fluid properties and add chemicals as needed to ensure proper fluid rheology.
  • Perform jar tests and record information as required based on work instructions.
  • Track product inventory and burn rate.
  • Able to calculate well volumes and other oilfield calculations.
  • Understanding of wellbore dynamics and pressures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear PPE equipment as assigned.
  • Able to safely operate forklift.
  • Adhere to safe working procedures.
  • Manage the Fluid Technician and ensure that they perform their duties correctly.
