We are currently seeking a hardworking, motivated Pressure Equipment Integrity Engineer to fill a temporary site secondment role in Redwater. This position is expected to start ASAP and will wrap up by the end of August. If you have a Mechanical Engineering degree, a Professional Engineer designation recognized by APEGA, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in an operating plant, we want to hear from you!

Reporting directly to the Pressure Equipment Integrity Engineer Lead, this position will work closely with Operations and Maintenance in support of the day-to-day operation of the refinery as well as the integration of minor projects.

What You’ll Do :

  • Work closely with the maintenance, operation, and reliability teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide support for fitness of service assessment, repair specifications, re-rate assessment, failure investigation, purchase specification, risk-based inspection, etc.
  • Support design work packages for minor projects and plant changes through the facility management of change process.
  • Assist during turnaround activities by providing consultation and preparing repair packages.
  • Contribute to shutdown scope development based on historical data and known future issues.
  • Improve plant operation and reliability through innovative engineering and root cause analysis of static pressure equipment.
  • Mentor team members in reviewing and authenticating engineering work packages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your Lead.
  • Extensive knowledge of design and fabrication codes for pressure vessels, furnaces, heat exchangers, process piping, and tankage.
  • Experience with mechanical design tools such as Compress, CAESAR Pipe Stress Analysis, JADE FEA for design verification and FFS assessment.
  • Knowledge of materials engineering, including refractory materials, to support assessment and fabrication.
  • Experience with RBI development in a multidisciplinary team for key units.
  • Participation in Root Cause Failure Analysis for pressure equipment.
  • Familiarity with jurisdictional requirements for pressure equipment in Alberta.
