Pressé Mason is a full-service law firm situated in Bedford, Nova Scotia. We are looking for a family law paralegal. For this position you will work with Shelley Hounsell, KC. Shelley has been practicing family law for 26 years. As a family law lawyer Shelley assists clients with issues including parenting, support and dividing property. As a family law paralegal you will have close contact with our clients and assist Shelley prepare financial disclosure documents, correspondence and briefs, agreements and court orders. The work of a modern family law lawyer has evolved, and Shelley’s practice focuses on solving her client’s legal issues in a way that will promote peace and safety for her client and their children.

Skills Required:

  1. Be able to efficiently schedule appointments, and work with others, such as court scheduling.
  2. Assist in precise document preparation, typing, and document management.
  3. Demonstrate independence, initiative, and discretion as all matters are strictly confidential.
  4. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse individuals.
  5. Proficient in legal accounting software, Office, Excel and Outlook.
  6. Possess a diploma in Legal Administration or Paralegal or other related post-secondary education, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal or related setting.
