Role Summary

We’re looking for a Press Plater Helper to assist the Press crew with operations, maintenance, and housekeeping of our printing presses. The role involves a 2-week rotational shift schedule : day (7 : 30am – 3 : 30pm), afternoon (3 : 30pm – 11 : 30pm), and night (11 : 30pm – 7 : 30am).

Key Responsibilities

Press Responsibilities

• Assist the Feeder and Pressman following their instructions
• Fill chemicals, empty waste ink cans, and dispose of waste properly
• Ensure wash-up blades and trays are cleaned
• Return unused ink to the shelf after each job
• Remove waste sheets before each run
• Clean ink slabs and knives at shift end
• Maintain a clean and swept press area
• Wash and store plates after jobs
• Assist press crew with various tasks and learn to become a feeder

Plating Responsibilities

• Retrieve files for plating, report issues
• Follow the plating schedule and docket info
• Monitor and maintain plating equipment and chemistry levels
• Produce and verify coats and plates
• Label and organize plates and tubes
• Ensure documentation is signed and accurate
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma; printing experience is an asset
• Knowledge of supplies and chemicals
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Willingness to learn equipment operation; prior certification is an asset
• Organized with task prioritization skills
• Availability for rotational shifts
