We are seeking a Press Operator responsible for operating a multi-color large format sheet-fed press to produce printed materials efficiently for our clients.

Working Hours

This role involves a 2-week rotational shift schedule: day shift (7:30am – 3:30pm), afternoon shift (3:30pm – 11:30pm), and night shift (11:30pm – 7:30am).

Key Responsibilities

1. Read and understand job dockets, ensuring all instructions are followed.
2. Interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
3. Identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and resolve press and job-related issues.
4. Train and supervise the press crew on operation and maintenance.
5. Ensure safety regulations are followed, report injuries, incidents, or near misses.
6. Establish competencies for junior press crew members.
7. Maintain register and color consistency, ensuring content matches proofs/samples.
8. Understand all machine functions and related processes.
9. Perform general preventative maintenance on the press.
10. Keep the work area clean and organized after each job.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Secondary School Diploma with experience operating various print presses proficiently.
2. Strong knowledge of lithography fundamentals such as trap, ink/water balance, color control, registration, troubleshooting, and quality control.
3. Understanding of different substrates, inks, and coatings and their applications.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
5. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
6. Willingness to be trained in lift trucks and WHMIS.
