Job description

Why work for Us?

Resolve Energy Solutions is a locally owned and operated company that has served Northeast British Columbia and Northwest Alberta since 2007. We provide asset retirement, facility and site maintenance, construction and repair, and asset integrity services to the energy industry. We are proud to support our local communities and Indigenous people, and are committed to delivering safe, innovative, and high-quality solutions that create value for our customers, our communities, and our team.

Following our amalgamation with Highmark Oilfield Services, Resolve is entering an exciting period of growth. We are busier than ever, with significant new business opportunities beginning this fall and strong potential for continued expansion.

This is an exceptional opportunity for the right President to help shape Resolve's next chapter. Working closely with the ownership team, the successful candidate will play a meaningful role in strategic planning, strengthening our operations, developing our people, and positioning the company for sustainable growth. This is more than an opportunity to lead an established business - it is a chance to influence its direction, grow alongside it, and help take Resolve to the next level.

Resolve offers a competitive compensation package, a comprehensive benefits plan, and the opportunity to build a long-term career with an established, locally grown company with operations across Western Canada.

The successful candidate will be:
  • A strong and confident leader who can provide direction, develop people, and build an accountable, high-performing team.
  • Accountable and dependable, with a willingness to take ownership of decisions, commitments, and organizational results.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities in a busy, rapidly growing business.
  • A critical and strategic thinker who can assess complex situations, identify opportunities, and make sound business decisions.
  • An effective communicator who can build trusted relationships with employees, clients, business partners, community members, and the ownership team.

This position is based in Fort St. John, British Columbia. The successful applicant must reside in Fort St. John or be willing to relocate to the community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership
  • Work closely with the ownership team to establish and advance the company's strategic direction, priorities, and long-term growth plans.
  • Translate strategic objectives into practical operational and financial plans.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities, organizational risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the continued integration and growth of the business following the amalgamation with Highmark Oilfield Services.
Operational Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of the company's day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements that strengthen safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Ensure services are delivered consistently and in accordance with client expectations, contractual requirements, and company standards.
  • Oversee the effective use, maintenance, and availability of company equipment, vehicles, tools, and other operational resources.
People and Organizational Leadership
  • Lead, support, and hold managers and departmental leaders accountable for performance and results.
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, and lines of accountability throughout the organization.
  • Promote strong communication and coordination between Operations and support functions, including Human Resources, Finance, Maintenance, and Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Support the development of a capable, engaged, and high-performing leadership team and workforce.
  • Foster a workplace culture grounded in safety, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Project and Performance Management
  • Provide executive oversight of the Project Management Office and the company's project portfolio.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately planned, resourced, monitored, and delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate operational, project, financial, organizational and strategic performance.
  • Address performance concerns, operational barriers, and emerging risks in a timely and effective manner.
Financial Leadership
  • Work with the ownership and Finance teams to develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Use financial and operational data to guide decision-making and improve profitability.
  • Monitor revenue, costs, margins, productivity, and overall business performance.
  • Ensure company resources are allocated effectively to support current operations and sustainable growth.
Business Development and Stakeholder Relationships
  • Strengthen relationships with existing clients while supporting the development of new business opportunities.
  • Represent Resolve professionally with clients, industry partners, First Nations, community stakeholders, and other external parties.
  • Support the preparation and evaluation of significant proposals, contracts, partnerships, and business opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry conditions, client needs, and developments affecting Resolve's operations and future growth.
Executive Accountability and Governance
  • Provide the ownership team with timely, accurate reporting on financial performance, operations, projects, organizational risks, and strategic priorities.
  • Present recommendations and business cases to support informed ownership decisions.
  • Ensure decisions and commitments made with the ownership team are effectively communicated and implemented throughout the organization.
  • Preserve the strengths of both organizations while establishing a cohesive culture and consistent approach to operations.
Risk, Compliance and Corporate Responsibility
  • Ensure the company operates in compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain appropriate systems for identifying, evaluating, and managing operational, financial, legal, reputational, and safety risks.
  • Provide leadership during significant operational incidents, client concerns, or other situations that may affect business continuity or the company's reputation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to operational challenges.
  • Ability to interpret operational and financial data and use it to guide decisions and improve business performance.
  • Strong negotiation, client-management, and business-development capabilities.
  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style supported by sound judgment, integrity, and personal accountability.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of five years of progressive senior leadership or executive management experience.
  • Significant experience in the oil and gas, energy services, construction, industrial services, or a closely related industry.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas operations in Northeast British Columbia and Northwest Alberta.
