Job description

Dedicated to creating experiences our guests and team members are amazed by, Prospect Point Café is looking for a hands-on, energetic Prep / Line Cook. With a sizable retail store, “grab and go” café, and West Coast inspired full-service restaurant, there is never a dull day at this beautiful tourist destination. If you are passionate about quality food and beverages, organization, and enjoy working on a team, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Prep / Line Cook motivated by a passion for food and personal and professional growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare grab and go items for the Cafe including soup, sandwiches, and baked goods
  2. Abide by all policies & procedures as outlined by the kitchen manual
  3. Control waste and spoilage
  4. Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in cooler, and all storage areas
  5. Participate in daily shipping, receiving, distribution, inventory, and control over kitchen supplies
  6. Ensure the quality of food is outstanding every time and items are produced quickly and efficiently with pride and attention to detail
  7. Perform additional responsibilities, as requested by the Chef de Partie
Qualifications:
  1. Previous kitchen or cooking experience necessary
  2. Formal kitchen training an asset
  3. Strong oral communication skills
  4. Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences guests are amazed by
  5. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
  6. Food Safe Level 1 certification
  7. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task with ease
  8. You lead with a positive attitude, outgoing personality, and bring energy and enthusiasm to work every day!
  9. You're dedicated to providing truly unmatched guest experiences
  10. You have strong verbal and written communication skills
  11. You are highly collaborative and able to work in a team-oriented environment
  12. You have excellent interpersonal skills - a true people-person!
Considerations:
  1. Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
  2. While performing the duties of this position, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time
  3. Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  4. Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool

Wage: $19.00 - $22.00
