Job summary

Cineplex Inc. is seeking a Cook to join our team in a fast-paced, social environment. You will prepare high-quality menu items, follow recipes and portion controls, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas.

The role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible hours and opportunities for growth are included.

• Restock items as needed and ensure proper food temperatures and portion sizes.
• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.

What you will do:

Our Cooks are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. If you thrive in an energetic, fast-paced and social atmosphere, this may be the opportunity for you! In this role, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Company.
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
• Serve food in the proper portion size and at the proper temperature.
• Execute daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.

Qualifications:

This role may be a perfect fit for you if:

• For licensed venues, candidates must be the required age of majority or older
• You have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• You have a minimum of 1 year of cooking experience
• You have a professional diploma or food services management (preferred)
• You have demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• You have knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling
• You have superior time management and multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
• You can lift up to 50lbs
