Arlo Hotels - Now Hiring: Prep Cook

The main focus of any restaurant is providing the highest quality of food to satisfy customers. This effort depends on the kitchen staff, especially prep cooks, who prepare ingredients for chefs and line cooks.

Responsibilities and Authorities:
  • Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in all situations.
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Deliver outstanding service and create memorable experiences.
  • Coordinate and multitask in a busy environment.
Specific Duties:
  • Prepare ingredients for daily menu offerings, including washing, chopping, grating, and slicing vegetables, and preparing meats.
  • Complete daily prep lists fully and store ingredients properly, with sign-off from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Follow recipes accurately and practice proper food cooling and storage techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work area.
  • Use food service equipment safely, including knives, ovens, grills, and food processors.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of prep or line cook experience in NYC at a comparable restaurant or hotel.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours.
Knowledge:
  • Good knife skills.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment such as vita prep, robo coup, ovens, and burners.

Salary: $18.00 per hour.
