Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Cook's Helper at the Stoney Creek location. You will assist in preparing meals for residents and guests, ensuring dietary needs are met, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The role involves operating kitchen equipment, following production checks, and adhering to health and safety standards. A Safe Food Handler certification and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds are preferred assets.

What You’ll Do

• Preparing meals for residents and guests ensuring dietary needs are met
• Operating and cleaning food production equipment and food preparation areas
• Complying with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
• Washes, cleans and stores dishes, cutlery, fixtures and equipment used for food preparation and service
• All other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Experience working in a kitchen is considered an asset
• Must be able to operate related equipment
• Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds is considered an asset
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively, and follow written/verbal instructions
• Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
• Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
• Current Safe Food Handler’s Certification
