Job description

Location: Hybrid Position, Flexible to work out of our NY and NJ office (East Hampton, Melville or Pearl River, NY, Carmel, IN, Mt. Laurel, NJ and Paramus, NJ Offices).

Summary: Handle every day financial transactions of the agency including but not limited to interactions with financial institutions, carriers, and agency personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Professional, service minded, detail oriented, good communication & time management skills. Self-starter, team player, analytic & problem-solving ability. Reliable and flexible.
  • Process timely premium payments to the carriers daily via ACH, wire and/or checks.
  • Record Insurance Payable transactions in the system accordingly. Maintain transactional documents in ImageRight document storage system.
  • Process the Preliminary Invoice Register daily, print all client installment invoices and distribute them accordingly.
  • Prep, process and code carrier invoices and statements.
  • Follow up on and resolve any issues with service regarding unbilled or incorrectly billed invoices.
  • Communicate with the receivables team on late notices, intents to cancels and cancellation notices.
  • Request return premium payments from carriers and process them in the system.
  • Resolve carrier related discrepancies and issues, with the help of service as needed.
  • Process the Insurance Payable Ledger report to review for aged items - research them, make payment, close them out, write them off accordingly.
  • Manage and maintain the Insurance Payables email inbox daily.
  • Maintain carrier vendor contact and banking information, with updates made on shared drive & document storage system.

PERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set priorities and manage workflow for self and support team to ensure all goals are met.
  • Interact with others effectively using strong, clear communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, assigning priority and time management abilities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Insurance Accounting Experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Possess basic knowledge of agency accounting as it relates to carrier payables.
  • Experience with Agency Management Systems such as Sagitta and ImageRight preferred.
  • Adobe knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Organized, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be a team player.

The national average salary for this role is $60,000 to $65,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
