Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Premium Finance Credit & Operations Specialist to join their team. This role is well suited to a lending, credit, or insurance professional who enjoys combining underwriting, portfolio management, operational oversight, and process improvement within a specialized financial services environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in underwriting premium finance loans, developing and maintaining credit policies, managing reporting requirements, and creating portfolio analytics. The position will also support billing and collections while helping strengthen controls, procedures, and overall operating processes.

While previous insurance premium finance experience would be valuable, it is not essential. The employer is open to candidates with a strong foundation in lending, credit, portfolio management, or financial operations and can provide training on the insurance-related aspects of the business.

Beyond technical experience, overall fit with the team will be an important consideration.

The Employer

Our client is an established Canadian insurance organization with an in-house premium financing operation. The organization offers a collaborative environment where an experienced professional can contribute to both day-to-day lending operations and the continued development of credit, reporting, analytics, and operational processes.

The role is primarily work from home, with attendance in the office required from time to time for team events, training, and other business needs.

About You

You bring a strong foundation in lending, credit, insurance, or financial operations and are comfortable assessing risk, working with financial information, and developing practical processes and controls.

You are analytical and detail oriented, with the ability to look beyond individual transactions and understand the performance of a broader loan portfolio. You are also comfortable managing operational responsibilities such as reporting, billing, collections, and process improvement.

Previous insurance or premium finance experience would be an asset, but equally important is your ability to learn the insurance side of the business and work effectively within a collaborative team.

Necessary Qualifications Include
  • Experience in lending, credit, insurance premium finance, portfolio management, or a related financial services environment
  • Experience underwriting or assessing credit risk
  • Understanding of credit policies and lending procedures
  • Experience preparing or managing operational and portfolio reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and interpret portfolio information
  • Experience with billing, collections, or loan administration
  • Ability to create, improve, and maintain internal controls and operating processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Previous insurance or premium finance experience considered an asset
What’s in It for You
  • Primarily work-from-home environment
  • Opportunity to apply lending and credit expertise within a specialized insurance finance operation
  • Exposure to underwriting, portfolio management, analytics, reporting, and operational improvement
  • Opportunity to help develop and strengthen credit policies, controls, and processes
  • Collaborative team environment
