Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Montréal, QC is hiring an Electronics Manufacturing Technician (Soldering Focus) to support production and engineering through precise soldering, cable assembly, and test hardware fabrication. Work includes NCR repair and prototyping within J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 guidelines.

The role requires a electronics technical education, hands-on hand soldering experience, and the ability to read drawings and schematics, with a focus on quality and collaboration in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must have a college degree or technical diploma in electronics or a related field.
• Working knowledge of J-STD-001 soldering requirements.
• Experience with hand soldering and electronic assembly in manufacturing or lab environments (through-hole and SMT).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies.
• Familiarity with standard test equipment (multimeter, power supply).
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision hand soldering in accordance with J-STD-001 on electronic assemblies.
• Manufacture and assemble cable harnesses per drawings and specifications.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair non-conformance items, including electronic assemblies.
• Build and assemble engineering test boxes and prototype hardware per instructions.
• Interpret technical documents including schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Ensure IPC-A-610 criteria and quality standards are met.
• Maintain documentation of work performed, defects identified, and repairs completed.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-compliant workstation and follow safety procedures.
