Job description

Who we are, what we do & why we do it:

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to use your expertise beyond practice and into the Fintech world?

This is an opportunity to use your accounting practice experience to Help Translate Dext’s product capabilities into practical, end‑to‑end solutions for accounting and bookkeeping practices. You’ll work closely with our Sales and Customer Success teams, supporting how our partners can adopt Dext to solve real workflow, efficiency and commercial challenges.

Dext is a fast‑growing fintech transforming bookkeeping through AI and machine learning. Our platform empowers accountants, bookkeepers, and businesses to simplify accounting processes and make smarter, more timely financial decisions.

In 2024, Dext joined the IRIS Software Group, further strengthening our ability to deliver end‑to‑end accountancy solutions. We’ve achieved 99.5% data accuracy, saved over 35 million hours of manual data entry, and are trusted by 12,000 firms and 700,000 businesses globally. With integrations across all major accounting software and over 11,500 financial sources, we’re proud to be at the forefront of innovation in the accounting space.

We are looking for someone with hands‑on experience in an NA accounting or bookkeeping practice who enjoys translating real‑world workflows into effective technology solutions. As our Accounting Solutions Specialist for the Canadian Market, you’ll combine deep domain expertise with strong communication skills to support complex sales conversations, shape how Dext is positioned in‑market, and elevate the capability of our regional sales teams.

The role, what you’ll do:

You’ll act as the Canadian subject matter expert for the Dext platform, working across pre‑sales, implementation design, and sales enablement. Your focus is on helping prospects and customers understand how Dext fits into their practice: mapping workflows, demonstrating value, and ensuring solutions are practical, compliant, and scalable.

Internally, you’ll play a key role in improving demo quality, strengthening product storytelling, and ensuring the sales team can confidently position Dext in a competitive accounting software ecosystem.

  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations and solution consultations to accounting firms and practices
  • Translate Canadian compliance workflows (GST/HST/PST, corporate tax, CRA and Revenu Québec reporting) into effective Dext configurations
  • Support mid‑market and enterprise opportunities through solution design, scoping, and Proof‑of‑Concepts
  • Contribute to proposals, pitch materials, and implementation planning
  • Enable sales teams through training, coaching, and demo best practice frameworks
  • Develop reusable demo scripts, templates, and enablement resources
  • Act as a Voice of Customer conduit to Product, sharing structured market feedback
  • Represent Dext at industry events, conferences, and partner engagements
About you, what we are looking for:
Must‑haves
  • Experience working within a Canadian accounting or bookkeeping practice
  • Strong understanding of Canadian compliance workflows (GST/HST/PST sales tax, corporate tax, year‑end working papers, CRA reporting)
  • Proven experience delivering product demos or customer‑facing presentations
  • Experience in requirements gathering or consultative selling environments
  • Strong knowledge of accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online and Xero essential)
  • Ability to translate business workflows into system configurations
  • Confident communicator across both technical and non‑technical audiences
Nice‑to‑haves
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with Dext
  • Exposure to mid‑market or enterprise accounting firms
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini)
  • Experience contributing to sales enablement or training programmes
What you will be part of:

Dext is a highly ambitious, innovative, and market‑leading FinTech. We operate at a global scale while maintaining the agility, pace, and mindset of a scale‑up. We’re driven by a shared ambition to deliver excellence every day and our culture reflects that.

Our values guide everything we do:

Our behaviours bring these values to life. They shape how we work, collaborate, and support each other every day: Be Courageous, Considerate, Transparent, Focused, Accountable, Inclusive and above all, Dexterous.

What we will give you:
  • Flexible working hours with remote and in‑office option in the heart of downtown Toronto;
  • An extensive work from home office equipment setup;
  • Several Time away from work (TAFW) policies, including but not limited to:
  • Up to 5% company pension/RRSP matching;
  • 100% employer‑covered benefits through Desjardins (medical, dental, & vision) - available on your first day; and
  • A Health & Wellness Spending account (myHSA) of $750 annually
