The Pre-Sales Solutions Specialist II is a sales engineering role in which you’ll work closely with prospective customers and our Sales team to support the product evaluation process. Your work will involve showcasing our FME platform, answering technical questions, and helping potential users gain the knowledge they need to confidently adopt our solutions.

You’ll collaborate across departments—including Product, Development, Marketing and Customer Success—to advocate for customer needs and enhance our onboarding and pre-sales processes. If you're someone who enjoys problem-solving, continuous learning, and engaging with people, this role is for you.

About The Team

Safe Software’s Pre-Sales Solutions team is part of our Customer Success group. We help potential customers understand how FME can solve their data integration challenges. From product demonstrations to trial support, we ensure each product evaluation experience is smooth, informative, and grounded in real-world applications. Collaboration is central to how we work—across teams and with our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Acquiring an in-depth understanding of the FME Platform
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide pre-sales support.
  • Assist with scoping calls with potential customers.
  • Develop and present demos showcasing the FME Platform for prospective customers.
  • Assist the Sales team with answering technical questions from prospective customers.
  • Engage with the product managers to provide expert knowledge on customer feedback and requirements to relevant teams and share how we can make the product better, with a focus on the new client perspective.
  • Foster technical relationships with the development team to help them understand pain points within the product.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success and Customer Education teams to improve onboarding for new customers.
  • Develop content and resources to help support and promote the FME Platform to prospective and new customers.
  • Work alongside the team to share solved problems with the user community through the blog, knowledge articles, or webinars.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

Safers come from a variety of backgrounds with diverse skills and knowledge. That being said, those who are most successful in this role have experience with the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Post-graduate diploma in a relevant field or equivalent background (GIS, database administration, data analytics, system integrations, business analytics).
  • 2+ years working with technical products in a customer service, sales engineering or related capacity.
  • 1 year of experience with the FME Platform or equivalent data integration tool.

Skills:

Clear and engaging communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong creative problem modelling and solving skills.

Self-motivated and able to make decisions on the spot.

Strong willingness to learn and ability to adapt well to change.
