Job description

The Pre-Sales Engineer (SE) supports sales productivity and deal flow by supporting the "technical close" in complex solutions. The SE collaborates with sales, operations, development, and QA teams. Ensures proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs and are appropriately supported by key decision-makers.

The SE is responsible for accurately defining and estimating the combined expectations of the sales resources and potential client.

Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the SE receives direction from the sales team.

Works deals assigned to the sales team as directed by the sales manager.

Proactively scopes the technical solution based on customer requirements, assesses customers' met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the firm.

Secures input from stakeholders within the customer firm and adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support.

Coordinates closely with internal sales and service resources to align solution design with customers' business requirements.

Secures from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deal's "technical close."

Provides coaching and professional development to team-member sales associates to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.

This is a client facing role.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in estimating software development estimation.

A good track record of achievement in a similar role.

Market knowledge of the mobile development Industry.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

The position requires flexibility as some potential customers are in different time zones.

The sales team operates from within Vancouver, BC, Canada.

This position includes international travel to customers' premises.
