Opening in early 2026, The Clayfield Hotel – part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection – is seeking a visionary General Manager to lead the pre-opening and successful launch of this luxury destination in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Nestled in the heart of wine country and designed as a four-season retreat, The Clayfield is defined by its elevated guest experiences, immersive programming, and a refined brand identity that evolves with each season. From exclusive cultural events to curated partnerships the hotel will offer rich, locally rooted programming that blends sophistication with authenticity.

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s pre-opening phase—including budgeting, staffing, operational setup, service training, and brand implementation—while working in close partnership with the hotel’s management company to ensure alignment and operational excellence. This role requires a collaborative and entrepreneurial leader who can build a high-performing team, foster a strong service culture, and execute a bold, experience-driven vision. Post-opening, the GM will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and ensuring The Clayfield delivers the elevated standards expected of a luxury Unbound Collection property.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Keen eye for detail and empowering coaching mentality
  • Strong desire to continuously improve and help others improve
  • 3-5 years' experience as a hotel General Manager or equivalent experience
  • Hyatt experience is a PLUS.
  • Working knowledge of financial/accounting procedures
  • Experience with project management, preopening or large scale hotel renovations
