The Practice Specialist provides practice group support to Osler’s Emerging Companies Group (EHG), and its clients, with respect to the development of new business, research and practice management.

Major Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes & directs the day-to-day operations of the EHG Toronto Practice
  • Direct / first point of contact for new clients / business intake for the EHG Toronto Practice
  • Manages allocation and workflow of new clients
  • Directs & engages staff members with incoming work
  • Provides record management & other administrative services for the EHG Toronto Practice, such as annual maintenance offerings and ISC registration
  • Assists with Business Development initiatives for the EHG Toronto practice as well EHG Toronto supported sponsorships
  • Ad-hoc duties as needed to ensure a smooth running of the practice
  • Acts as a liaison for external sponsorships
  • Works closely with other departments throughout the firm, such as, marketing, client development, business development & market recognition teams
  • Assists with the planning and organization of internal and external events
  • Assists with cross department referral requests
  • Proactive in implementing practice processes
  • Assists with practice innovation and initiatives

Position Requirements :

Education and Experience

University or college diploma (preferably in business or paralegal studies) plus a minimum of two to three years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proactive, highly organized, detail orientated and ability to manage a high volume of tasks
  • Discretion and a strong client service orientation are essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail
  • Disciplined execution and follow through; excellent time management skills are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
  • A team player who also works well independently
  • Strong ability to learn existing business practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be highly motivated to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
