Required

As a senior advisor, IT architecture, you actively monitor opportunities offered by new technologies and business approaches for the organization as a whole. You design solutions to meet the business needs of large-scale projects or programs based on architecture targets and supporting foundation. You ensure consistency with the organization's current and future needs and structure, while also ensuring that new components are compatible with the existing architecture (software applications, products, services, etc.). You lead and influence the organization’s business partners and specialists on solution or enterprise architecture initiatives that are strategic, complex and innovative. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth expertise across several technology and/or business fields and knowledge of data, applications and infrastructure. You make recommendations regarding solution or enterprise architecture. You produce specialized deliverables as part of projects or initiatives that have a very high degree of operational and conceptual complexity, using your analytical skills and extensive, in-depth knowledge of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in a wide range of other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert in your field, as well as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert to an architecture team for large-scale, specialized projects and mandates that significantly impact the entire organization.
  • Advise and assist specialists and business partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic mandates under your responsibility. Organize, manage and deliver guidelines, as needed, on specific technical subjects requiring the consensus of multiple stakeholders.
  • Support your unit’s strategic projects and initiatives by developing and updating policies, standards, architecture targets and supporting foundations, or technology solutions, taking into account aspects pertaining to data, applications and infrastructure.
  • Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues. Establish guidelines and make recommendations to the appropriate decision-making bodies and committees.
  • Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies.
  • Represent Desjardins’s position when making agreements with external partners and organizations.
