Job summary

Sprott Shaw College invites applications for the Practical Nursing Instructor role at our Kamloops campus. The instructor delivers components of the Practical Nursing program to students, under the Campus Director and Practical Nursing Coordinator, with emphasis on high standards of clinical and classroom instruction.

The position requires an active BC nursing license (LPN/RN/NP/RPN), Adult Instruction Certification to be completed within two years, and at least three years of recent nursing

Qualifications

• Current, active and unrestricted practicing license as an LPN, NP, RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Adult Instruction Certification (to be completed within two years of hire).
• Minimum of three years of recent full-time nursing experience (within the last 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Instruct curriculum using pre-authorized or Sprott Shaw materials.
• Contribute to curriculum maintenance.
• Administer assessments and grade student work.
• Attend faculty meetings, in-service training, program and college activities.
• Supervising students during clinical placements, as needed.

Compensation Range

• Registered Nurses: $42.00-$46.00 per hour
• Licensed Practical Nurses: $31.00-$36.00 per hour
• Most new instructors will be placed in the starting range. In some circumstances, new employees may be eligible for compensation beyond the starting point. Factors influencing salary decisions include qualifications and years of experience in similar roles
