Powertrain Controls Engineer – Senior

Description

The Powertrain Controls Engineer will contribute to the development of supervisory charging and discharging (vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-vehicle) algorithms and strategies for the next generation of Stellantis electrified vehicles. The ideal candidate has a strong background in control engineering and can collaborate efficiently with cross functional teams, leveraging various tools and methods to design and deliver reliable control solutions.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the definition and design of energy management and high voltage charging control algorithms
  • Champion identifying and executing best practices in control design
  • Lead verification of control algorithms against functional requirements employing methods of model-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, subsystem test, and vehicle test
  • Lead definition and simulation of charging control use cases and simulation activities
  • Interface with various stakeholders across the high voltage energy management functional domain and contribute to the definition of functional objectives and requirements
Requirements
  • ARDC – Onsite in Windsor, Ontario.
  • Master's degree in electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required from an accredited University with 5-8 years of engineering work experience. Alternatively, a PhD degree in similar engineering disciplines with 1-2 years of related experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of control theory

  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink in algorithm development
