Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers by following safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards, and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  2. Perform work according to construction and installation plans, standards, inspection and test plans, safety and technical procedures, as well as repair and maintenance requirements on Transmission, Distribution, and Substation facilities.
  3. Assist in the installation, relocation, and removal of civil works, wires, communication cables, and other power facilities.
  4. Assist in assembling and installing civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment related to power facilities.
  5. Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure the timely completion of work.
  6. Inspect and verify the safe operation of tools, instruments, devices, and mobile equipment.
  7. Perform general site maintenance, including cleanup and assisting other workers as directed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Blue Book or proof of apprenticeship as an Apprentice Linesman.
  • Experience with distribution work and line work.
  • Experience operating powerline equipment.
  • Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License.
  • Experience working with SaskPower is an asset.
  • Successful completion of pre-access requirements (online training, verification of tickets and apprenticeship, satisfactory D&A test).
Languages
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing (by hand and digitally) in English.
