• Certification completion of MEARIE or IHSA Powerline Technician Training Program (434A Red Seal).
• Experience with stick work and rubber glove techniques.
• Valid Driver’s License (DZ or AZ).

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including power lines and cables.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements.
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance.

Job description

Spark Power, a trusted partner in power in North America, is actively seeking Powerline Technicians (Journeyperson Certified) to join our growing Belleville, Ontario team. As part of our team, you will perform tasks related to installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground power lines, cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting, and related equipment.

Responsibilities of a Powerline Technician:

1. Ensure adherence to local and company health and safety requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
2. Maintain a professional demeanor with team members and customers.
3. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including power lines, cables, and street lighting.
4. Connect and insulate conductors and wiring.
5. Work at heights using ladders or hydraulic buckets on poles and towers.
6. Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with drawings, codes, and regulations.
7. Coordinate with local electrical inspectors for work approval.
8. Manage inventory control.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson, including completion of MEARIE or IHSA Powerline Technician Training Program (434A Red Seal Powerline Technician) or equivalent.
• Ability to operate bucket trucks, derricks, hydraulic equipment, and maintenance tools.
• Experience with live line work, including stick work and rubber glove techniques.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License (DZ or AZ)
• Proof of Powerline Technician qualification
• Training in Working at Heights, Pole Top and Bucket Rescue, and Bucket Evacuation
