Job description

ECG Engineering are leaders in the Electrical Engineering space, delivering design and project delivery services to the Mining, Utilities, Materials Handling and Industrial sectors with extensive and proven capabilities in Australia, and around the world.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Vancouver & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Cape Town, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

We require a Senior or Lead Power Systems Engineer to join our Toronto or Vancouver based design team, contributing & coordinating design on a range of mineral processing related Electrical Projects, and Studies, ranging from detail design and technical reports to client, to full blown studies on remote mining plant power systems design and upgrade with a strong focus on renewable energy.

Applicants should have strong skills and experience in the following areas:

• Analysis and design of HV power systems including design of powerlines and substations
• Specialized network analysis and performance standard studies experience
• Solid electrical engineering experience that also includes knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and controls applications
• Experience working on both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Degree level electrical engineering qualifications, with specialize power engineering qualifications well regarded
• An ability to self-manage while working in a variety of team / project delivery scenarios
• The ability to travel with project requirements

The roles Senior or Lead Power Systems Engineer are based in Toronto or Vancouver, working with a growing power systems team, however, there may be occasional input on the studies and reports of our Australian and African offices, as well as the coordination of works from our engineering office in Perth, WA.

To be considered for the ECG Power systems group, you need solid power systems experience on complex high value resource & energy projects, with an understanding of the differences between our global based projects, and the realities of offshore remote mining plant construction and operations: (think Africa).
