Position Overview

As a Power Saw Operator (Slasher) you will be working closely on a small crew supporting our client in several different locations and terrains. In this role you will be required to travel to various locations in Canada.

Job Duties

  • Brush cutting using Chainsaw or Brushsaw.
  • Working on steep slopes and uneven ground.
  • Groundwork support for trimming operations.
  • Chipper operation and loading brush.
  • Assist the Foreperson in job- site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
  • Abide by Davey and Industry safety policies and procedures.
  • Providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with maintenance and safe power saw operation.
  • Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Enform or Forest Safety Council training preferred.
  • Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.

Additional Information

  • Full time year round employment.
  • Mostly rural locations.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Daily Per Diem where required.
  • Hotel expenses covered while on assignment.
  • Shifts vary based on scope and location however can include requirements for turnaround.
  • Excellent benefits package and RRSP/TFSA matching program.
  • Employee owned company with stock purchase available after 6 months of employment.
