Job summary

United Rentals, the world\'s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech III) in the Power/HVAC division. You will perform maintenance and minor repairs on diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification/air purification equipment, delivering safe, professional service and exceptional customer interactions.

This role offers opportunities to progress to higher level tech roles within Service Department and requires 3-5 years of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
• Diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic systems.
• Strong mechanical background with various engines.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to position.
• Strong customer service, teamwork and communication.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Responsible for service documentation.
• Occasional travel to customer sites.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Train lower level technicians as needed.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment
• Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
• Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Own the tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
