Job description

We are looking for a motivated, energetic Field Service Power Generation technician to join our team at the Saskatoon branch.

This is a field service position with occasional work in the shop as required. Most work involves traveling to customer sites in Saskatoon and northern Saskatchewan, which may include overnight stays. The position also requires being on call every 4-5 weeks for one week at a time.

Compensation: $5000 sign-on bonus!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engage with customers courteously and professionally.
2. Ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
3. Use specialized tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose and perform less complex repairs, including parts and tools preparation.
4. Perform preventative maintenance on power generation products in the field as per schedules and standards.
5. Escalate unresolved issues to senior technicians or supervisors.
6. Complete documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
7. Participate in training aligned with skill and business needs.
8. Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
9. Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, reporting issues or incidents appropriately.

Qualifications:

• Red Seal certification (Heavy Duty, Truck and Transport, or Electrician) is mandatory.
• Valid local driver's permit.
• Broad mechanical and electrical repair skills.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Ability to perform electrical repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision on power generation products.
• Experience working on generators ranging from portable units to large commercial systems.
• Possibility of licensing for export controls or sanctions compliance.

Advanced Skills (if applicable):

• Troubleshooting and repairing generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
• Startup and repair of bypass transfer switches.
• Mentoring junior technicians, including providing technical support and documentation.
