Job description

We are looking for a Field Service Power Generation technician to join our team in Saskatoon (SK).

In this role, you will be part of our mobile team, and you will get to work on Cummins's latest technologies.

A 5000$ Sign-on bonus is coming your way if you have the skills and experience to take on this role.

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following :

Experience :

Customer service experience

Intermediate knowledge or experience on diesel engines

Some mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities is an asset

High Voltage / Low Voltage experience is an asset

Education-certifications :

Valid driver's license

Clean driver's abstract

Red seal certification (Heavy duty, Truck and transport ) is mandatory.

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Qualifications

On Call rotation required.

A copy of your red seal certification or trades diploma is required for this position.

A copy of a 5 years drivers abstract is required for this position.

A valid local drivers license is required for this position.

Responsibilities

About the role :

Working hours are Monday to Friday- Starting time 7 : 30am with 1 / 2 hour lunch please (40 hrs. week)

The position will support the PG department and receive Cummins Training.

This position will also require to be on call every 4-5 weeks for one week at a time once the training is completed.

The position will involve some traveling and some occasional in-shop work.

This position requires work including (commissioning, preventative maintenance, diagnosis and repair) on generators ranging from portable RV units all the way up to large commercial.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.

Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools

Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field

Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and / or Supervisor

Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

Completes training in line with skill and business requirements

Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
