SUMMARY

The Power Engineer is a mid-entry level position responsible for assisting other technicians, performing maintenance and repairs, and routine services on non-technical facility components (e.g., walls, floors). The role involves working in accordance with established processes and practices and ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety, and fire protection requirements.

Please note, this is a full-time position located in Edson, AB.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshooting

  • Observe facility and equipment conditions, identify deficiencies, and suggest improvements.

Maintenance

  • Perform work according to established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
  • Monitor and inspect facility components regularly.
  • Respond to service requests, perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Operate mechanical, electrical, and other systems.
  • Manage work orders from dispatch to completion, maintaining records.
  • Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs.

Client Relations

  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through quality service.

Administration

  • Record and monitor maintenance activities in the management system.
  • Participate in facility-related projects.
  • Ensure work complies with policies and safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools and submit expenditures promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in facility operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of facility systems and repair techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong safety awareness and client service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Building Automation Systems.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated maintenance skills.

Licenses and/or Professional Certification

  • 5th Class Power Engineering certification or in progress.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
