A leading health authority is seeking a dedicated Power Engineer 4 for the Dawson Creek & District Hospital. This role involves operating and maintaining critical systems within the facility, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Ideal candidates will possess the required 4th Class Power Engineer certificate and relevant experience, contributing to a comprehensive healthcare service in Northern BC.
We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Power Engineer 4 to fill a position at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, the Power Engineer 4 (PW4) operates, repairs and carries out preventative maintenance on the boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power and other related equipment of the facility. Performs mechanical maintenance, repairs, and replacement duties related to the physical plant, buildings, and equipment approaching various journeyman trades qualifications. Supervises other maintenance workers and designated staff as required. Manages contractors and projects as required.
Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Monday to Friday, Days - 07 : 00 to 15 : 00
Dawson Creek & District Hospital Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include :

The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education.
