Qualifications

  • 2nd Class Power Engineer certification (TSSA) is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage regulatory responsibilities required.
  • Excellent mathematical, verbal communication, and reasoning skills necessary.
  • Ability to work in hot, dirty, and chemical environments while wearing appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shift log entries during each shift to ensure awareness of issues requiring attention.
  • Verify the efficiency of turbines, boilers, and auxiliaries using Delta V (DCS).
  • Assume responsibility for the plant during the absence of the Shift Engineer.
  • Perform equipment monitoring and system checks to remain compliant with TSSA.
  • Monitor systems such as Steam, Condensate, Water Treatment, Wood Waste, Effluent Handling, Turbine Generator, and support systems.
  • Understand water treatment and cooling water monitoring processes.
  • Understand boiler chemistry and support systems like combustion, CEMS, fuel, and ash handling.
  • Support and assist with other duties as assigned.

GreenFirst is looking for a 2nd class Power Engineer to support the Cogeneration Facility in operating the Steam plant’s systems.
