Position: 2nd Class Power Engineer

GreenFirst is looking for a 2nd class Power Engineer to support the Cogeneration Facility in operating the Steam plant’s systems.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain shift log entries during each shift to ensure awareness of issues requiring attention.
- Verify the efficiency of turbines, boilers, and auxiliaries using Delta V (DCS).
- Assume responsibility for the plant during the absence of the Shift Engineer.
- Perform equipment monitoring and system checks to remain compliant with TSSA.
- Monitor systems such as Steam, Condensate, Water Treatment, Wood Waste, Effluent Handling, Turbine Generator, and support systems.
- Understand water treatment and cooling water monitoring processes.
- Understand boiler chemistry and support systems like combustion, CEMS, fuel, and ash handling.
- Support and assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2nd Class Power Engineer certification (TSSA)
- Attention to sensory details and regulatory responsibilities
- Excellent mathematical, verbal communication, and reasoning skills
- Wear appropriate PPE in hot, dirty, and chemical environments
